Hello Lincoln Families,

The Winn Dixie Party was a huge success! Thank you for the party items, which made the morning so much fun!

Report cards will go home in two weeks. There may be an area(s) where your child still needs to meet the essential standard. The expected goal is to meet standards by the end of 4th grade. Students are provided extra practice and opportunities through small group and individual intervention throughout the school year to achieve their goals. 

As shared at Back to School Night, we are piloting new ELA instructional materials in grades K-5. This resource offers a rigorous, knowledge building approach for our learners, engaging students in reading, writing, listening and speaking. While our commitment to addressing essential ELA standards has not changed, the order and manner in which standards are assessed in this pilot may be different than in past years. As such, you may not see a reported measure for every ELA standard on your child’s report card. Please also refer to the comments provided by your child’s teacher, as well as ongoing communication and conferencing, regarding your child’s progress in ELA. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Snacks in the Classroom

Please ensure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example, please do not use yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for daily snacks. This avoids spilling on school devices, furniture, new carpet, etc. These snacks work better in the lunchroom. Thank you for your understanding. 

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! Students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class should bring non-food items, such as pencils, instead of cupcakes. Sometimes, parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!

  Music:  The 4th-grade performance is on Tuesday at 1:05. Students should wear red, white, and blue and bring their music and recorders to school. The night time performance will be on Wednesday at 5:45 at the high school. Students should plan to arrive at 5:35, wearing red, white, and blue and with their music and recorders.   M-STEP Math Test will begin on  Tuesday, April 22nd.  Please avoid absences on these two days. Makeups will be the following Wednesday. Thank you for your consideration.   End-of-Year Countdown: We have planned a small activity based on the alphabet each day to celebrate the final days of school . Students will enjoy a new letter-themed challenge each day , leading to a joyful celebration to wrap up the year on a high note! We need some items to help with the celebration.   Spring Conferences :  Spring conferences are held on an as-needed basis. I have emailed parents to notify them if we need a conference. If you didn't receive an email and would like a conference, please email me, and we can schedule a time. Conferences will be on Thursday, February 20th. All students are working on their student-led conference slides and goals and will present them. Students with no conference scheduled will present them at home to earn extra yards!  Kindness Party :  On Friday, February 14th, we will have our Kindness Party! The party will be from 2:00-3:00. We will not need parent volunteers. We will have light snacks, and if students want to participate in trading "Valentine" cards, the list of students is below.
