In the Classroom:

Please ask your child what they are learning in our classroom!

Reading: Module 4: Responding to Inequality: Ratifying the 19th Amendment

Math:  Students took the unit assessment. 

Unit 7: Home Support: Students learn to draw and identify points, rays, segments, angles, and lines, including parallel and perpendicular lines. Students also learn to use a protractor to measure angles, draw angles of given measurements, and identify acute, obtuse, right, and straight angles in two-dimensional figures.

Science: Students took the unit assessment. Look for them in their homework folders. 

 The Birth of Rocks. In this unit, students investigate features and processes of the Earth’s surface. Students explore the rapid process of volcanic eruptions! In contrast, students also explore the gradual Earth processes of weathering and erosion. Students apply their knowledge and design solutions to mitigate the impacts of these processes on humans.

Snacks in the Classroom

Please ensure that everyday snacks are quick and easy for your child to handle. For example, avoid using yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items as daily snacks. This avoids spilling on school devices, furniture, new carpet, etc. These snacks work better in the lunchroom. Thank you for your understanding. 

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays! Students who would like to celebrate birthdays in our class should bring non-food items, such as pencils, instead of cupcakes. Sometimes, parents put together little gift bags. These are just ideas. There is no obligation to send anything!

  Music:  The 4th-grade performance is on Tuesday at 1:05. Students should wear red, white, and blue and bring their music and recorders to school. Students will enjoy a new letter-themed challenge each day , leading to a joyful celebration to wrap up the year on a high note! We need some items to help with the celebration.   Spring Conferences :  Spring conferences are held on an as-needed basis. I have emailed parents to notify them if we need a conference. If you didn't receive an email and would like a conference, please email me, and we can schedule a time. Conferences will be on Thursday, February 20th. All students are working on their student-led conference slides and goals and will present them. Students with no conference scheduled will present them at home to earn extra yards!  Kindness Party :  On Friday, February 14th, we will have our Kindness Party! The party will be from 2:00-3:00. We will not need parent volunteers. We will have light snacks, and if students want to participate in trading "Valentine" cards, the list of students is below.
